A Special Moment Overlooking the Main Ridge of Yakushima
Kuromidake is a popular day-hiking course on Yakushima that allows you to experience high mountains and diverse nature in a single day. From the summit at 1,831 meters, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view, with the peak of Mt. Miyanoura located further away, offering breathtaking scenery on clear days.
The course starts from the Yodogawa Trailhead, passing through ancient forests registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and as you surpass the timberline, the world in the sky awaits you. Along the way, there are highlights including Yakusugi trees, rhododendrons, the mirror-like reflection of canopies in Yodogawa, and the mystical marshland.
Once above the timberline, the trees are shorter than you, and there is no longer any cover from the sun or rain. The trail is maintained but involves significant elevation changes, making it more suitable for experienced hikers.

A cancellation charge will be waivered only if adverse weather prevents the guest from arriving to Yakushima, or adverse weather forces us to cancel the tour. Under all other circumstances if a the guest cancels a tour then cancellation charges apply.
