Jomon Sugi at a Relaxed Pace: A Journey into the Mossy Forest
Jomon Sugi, one of the most famous trees in Japan, attracts approximately 50,000 visitors annually. Over 90% of hikers tackle the 22-kilometer round trip in a single day, spending around 10 hours on the trail. However, a day trip to Jomon Sugi often leaves little time to fully appreciate the tree or immerse yourself in the surrounding forest scenery. The trail is also busy with many visitors, making it difficult to enjoy a quiet moment.
This tour offers a more relaxed pace, allowing you to walk through the ancient forest at your own pace and connect deeply with its timeless beauty. At night, you will camp or stay in a mountain hut within the forest, enjoying the tranquility of nature under a star-filled sky and relaxing to the soothing sounds of the wilderness.
On the second morning, you’ll head to Jomon Sugi in the crisp early morning air. Arriving before the crowds, you can experience the majestic tree in peace, appriciating its overwhelming presence and significance.
This tour is ideal for those who may not feel confident about their physical fitness or for those who wish to have more time connecting with Jomon Sugi.
